Auto Nicknames¶
Auto Nicknames automatically updates member nicknames based on their highest-level character on the server's tracked world.
Example formats:
Galarzaa Fidera [287 RP]Imperia Whispering End⦠<848š”ļø>
Requirements
- The server must be premium.
- The server must be tracking a world.
- NabBot needs the Manage Nicknames permission.
- NabBot's top role must be above the target member's top role.
- NabBot cannot edit the server owner's nickname.
How it works¶
- NabBot checks the member's characters on the tracked world.
- It selects the highest-level character.
- It builds the nickname from your selected options.
- It updates the nickname only when a change is needed.
If a member has no characters on the tracked world, they are skipped.
When updates happen¶
Auto Nicknames updates through normal tracking flow and refresh actions:
- when tracked character data changes
- when admins trigger a full refresh
- when admins trigger refresh for a specific member
Manual nickname edits are not reverted immediately. The next normal update can apply the configured nickname again.
Format options¶
You can configure:
- Vocation format: emoji or abbreviation
- Bracket style:
[],<>,{},()
Long names are truncated automatically to stay within Discord's nickname length limit.
Important behavior¶
- Disabling Auto Nicknames stops future updates, but existing nicknames are not changed automatically.
- Members whose nicknames cannot be edited due to Discord hierarchy rules are skipped.
- Members without characters on the tracked world are skipped.
Recommended setup¶
- Remove members' Change Nickname permission if you want stable automatic nicknames.
- Keep NabBot's role high enough to edit the members you want covered.
- Run a refresh after enabling to apply changes faster across existing members.
